WINNING Member Rights As a GCHP member, you have the right to: 1. Choose a Primary Care Provider (PCP) from within GCHP’s network. You may change your PCP every month if you are not happy with their service. 2. Be treated with respect and dignity by health care providers and GCHP staff. 3. Have privacy and your medical information kept confidential. 4. Get information about GCHP, the providers and the health services that are available to you. 5. Timely medical appointments. 6. File a complaint if you are not happy with the care you received from providers or GCHP staff or if your language needs are not met. There will be no discrimination against you or retaliation for filing a grievance. 7. Request an appeal when there has been a decision to deny, defer, or limit services or benefits for you. 8. Request a state fair hearing, including information on the conditions under which an expedited hearing is possible. 9. Receive interpreter services at no cost to you when visiting your doctor and accessing covered services. 10. Get written member informational materials in any language and in alternative formats at no charge (including braille, large-size print and audio format) upon request and in a timely fashion. 11. Access family planning services, Indian Health Service Facilities, sexually transmitted infection services and emergency services outside of the Plan’s network. 12. Get information about your health problems and health care choices that you can understand. 13. Take part in making choices about your care with your doctor. This includes the right to say “no” to medical treatment for your condition. 14. Get a second opinion for your diagnosis or treatment plan. Member Rights and Responsibilities As a member of Gold Coast Health Plan (GCHP), you have rights and responsibilities. To help members learn more about these rights and responsibilities, GCHP offers three benefit information meetings each month. At the meetings, you will learn about: ● ● Medi-Cal benefits and how to use them. ● ● Your rights and responsibilities as a GCHP member. ● ● Choosing and changing your Primary Care Provider (PCP). ● ● Getting dental, vision and behavioral health services. ● ● Transportation to your appointments. ● ● Resources to improve your health.
