member services: 1-888-301-1228/TTY 1-888-310-7347 5 What to know about Quest Diagnostics As of February 1, Quest Diagnostics is the preferred outpatient lab for Gold Coast Health Plan (GCHP) members. GCHP is committed to providing members with greater access to health care services. This change does not affect benefits or services. Quest Diagnostics offers members: ● ● Access to lab services six days a week. ● ● Longer hours on weekdays. ● ● Local service centers. ● ● Online and mobile scheduling. ● ● Resource information. For your doctor, it offers the chance to handle your care more efficiently by: ● ● Ordering testing online and on a mobile device. ● ● Managing and tracking lab orders. ● ● Seeing your lab reports on demand. Your doctor will send you to Quest Diagnostics for all outpatient lab services. If there is a medical need to send you to some other lab, your doctor must send a request for pre-authorization to GCHP before the services are given. Emergencies and services exempted by state or federal regulations do not need pre-authorization. This new agreement does not apply to inpatient hospital services. It also does not apply to outpatient services given in a hospital or a freestanding outpatient facility, such as: ● ● Outpatient dialysis testing. ● ● Outpatient chemotherapy testing. ● ● Outpatient radiation therapy testing. ● ● Outpatient ambulatory surgery testing requiring post-surgical labs. ● ● Outpatient infusion therapies requiring testing prior to infusion. ● ● Emergency room services where labs are ordered. To find a Quest Diagnostics lab: ● ● Call 1-866-697-8378 or the California Relay Service at 711 . ● ● Visit the website at appointment .questdiagnostics.com/patient/ confirmation . If you are getting treatment and have questions about the continuation of your care, call GCHP Member Services at 1-888-301-1228 , Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you use a TTY, call 1-888-310-7347 . Members may also contact the Medi-Cal Managed Care and Mental Health Office of the Ombudsman at 1-888-452-8609 . The office helps solve problems from a neutral standpoint to make sure that members get all medically necessary covered services for which plans are contractually responsible.
