A nurse can speak to you over the phone in your preferred language when you or a family member needs urgent medical care. The nurse will help you decide if you: ●Need to go to an urgent care facility. ●Can wait to see your doctor. ●Can take care of your symptoms at home. The nurse can also answer questions or address concerns about COVID-19, the flu and RSV. To reach the Advice Nurse Line: ●Call 1-805-437-5001. ●Call 1-877-431-1700 (toll-free). ●If you use a TTY, call 711. When you call, have your GCHP or Medi-Cal Benefits ID card ready. If you are calling for someone else, please have that person near you. The advice nurse may have questions about their condition. For the most current information on GCHP member resources, visit goldcoasthealthplan.org. Medi-Cal Rx: Pharmacy benefits Medi-Cal Rx provides your pharmacy benefits. To use your benefits, you must find a participating pharmacy. You need to show your Medi-Cal Benefits ID Card (BIC) at the pharmacy. Your medication coverage may change. If a medication is not covered, your doctor may need to ask Medi-Cal Rx for special approval. Or your doctor may change the medication to one that is covered.
