ISSUE 3, WINTER 2022 Reminder: Get vaccinated = Get $50 You have a few days left to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and be able to get a $50 gift card. To get your gift card, you must: 1. Be a GCHP member over the age of 12 with full-scope Medi-Cal benefits. 2. Get the first dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, between October 1, 2021, and February 28, 2022. Eligible members do not need to show proof of vaccination. Eligibility will be confirmed using state vaccine records. Gift cards will be mailed by March 31, 2022, to the member address on file. This year started with big changes to the Medi-Cal program. New Gold Coast Health Plan (GCHP) benefits may now be available to you. These include: ● Pregnant and postpartum members can now ask for doulas during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. ● Coverage has been extended for a year for mothers after the birth of their child. ● Members can ask for dyadic services. This is a form of care where a child and caregiver are treated together in a holistic manner. ● Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM) that measure sugar levels and give information about sugar level changes. New GCHP benefits in 2022 ● Community health care workers. ● Coverage for people 50 years of age and older who would qualify for Medi-Cal if not for their immigration status.
